Rose Sullivan, RN, Operations Manager for TFOS, brings a breadth of knowledge to the Society from both the medical and administrative perspective. Originally trained as a critical care nurse, responsible for the coronary care unit, Rose has exhibited her leadership and organizational skills in several key medical centers including Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA; University of Minnesota Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN; and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, NH.

Following more than a decade in nursing, Rose re-angled her intensive care specialty and re-focused on a different side of customer service, residential real estate. During her years in real estate, Rose was elected President of the Massachusetts Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists. Managing her client base provided a vehicle for business and financial prowess.

Reminiscent of her days in the ICU, Rose returned to nursing as clinical program manager at the Schepens Eye Research Institute. In this role, she worked with David Sullivan, managing patient recruitment, organizing and collecting clinical data, regulatory control issues, etc.

When the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society was created, Rose volunteered to wear both of her hats, the medical and administrative, offering the Society her clinical and entrepreneurial background.
