Amy G. Sullivan, Executive DirectorAmy@tearfilm.orgAmy G. Sullivan is the Executive Director for the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS). Ms. Sullivan has many responsibilities, including (but not limited to): Before joining TFOS, Ms. Sullivan worked for Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L). She provided public relations counsel for clients seeking to build and maintain visibility among the domestic and international market analysts and business and trade press communities. She focused in particular on strategic branding, e-commerce and media relations. Prior to MS&L, Ms. Sullivan managed the IBM Software International media relations account for Brodeur Worldwide. She was an agency representative and liaison between IBM geographies, in which she promoted and supervised IBM U.S. initiatives abroad for EMEA, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. Ms. Sullivan began her career in international business and branding with Fidelity Investments, where she developed public relations strategies for Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Company both for the US and South America. Ms. Sullivan is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian and has a basic understanding of Portuguese. Currently in Rome, Italy, she has lived in the US, France and Argentina as well as traveled extensively throughout the world. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Boston University in Mass Communication and Public Relations.
Rose Sullivan, RN, Operations ManagerRose@tearfilm.org Rose Sullivan, RN, Operations Manager for TFOS, brings a breadth of knowledge to the Society from both the medical and administrative perspective. Originally trained as a critical care nurse, responsible for the coronary care unit, Rose has exhibited her leadership and organizational skills in several key medical centers including Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA; University of Minnesota Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN; and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, NH. Following more than a decade in nursing, Rose re-angled her intensive care specialty and re-focused on a different side of customer service, residential real estate. During her years in real estate, Rose was elected President of the Massachusetts Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists. Managing her client base provided a vehicle for business and financial prowess. Reminiscent of her days in the ICU, Rose returned to nursing as clinical program manager at the Schepens Eye Research Institute. In this role, she worked with David Sullivan, managing patient recruitment, organizing and collecting clinical data, regulatory control issues, etc. When the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society was created, Rose volunteered to wear both of her hats, the medical and administrative, offering the Society her clinical and entrepreneurial background. Rose's responsibilities include TFOS' daily banking, payroll, human resources issues and insurances as well as helping to facilitate all things TFOS.
