Wei Chen, MD, PhD, is the Chair of TFOS China.
Dr. Chen is a Professor and Vice-Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology in the affiliated Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, National Clinical Research Center for Ocular Diseases. He is also the Chair of Ningbo Eye Hospital and the Director of Eye Clinic in Boao Super Hospital in China. Dr. Chen was a postdoctoral fellow at the Schepens Eye Research Institute, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA), and at the Ocular Surface Center of Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX, USA). He has been awarded five grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and one National Key Technology Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. He has authored more than 120 scientific research articles, and owns ten Chinese and four international patents. Dr. Chen is an advisory member of the China Cornea Society, a founding member of the Asia Dry Eye Society and an editorial board member of Asia Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology. He has been invited to speak in over 30 international meetings and has performed more than 3000 cases of DALK, DSAEK/DMEK, PKPs and Boston Keratoprothesis surgeries. Wei Li, MD, is a Vice Co-Chair of TFOS China.
Dr. Li is a Professor and Director of the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science, and a Deputy Dean of the Xiamen University School of Medicine, Xiamen, China. He is also Honorary Professor in School of Optometry & Vision Sciences, Cardiff University, UK. He is a cornea and ocular surface disease specialist in the Xiamen Eye Center and Xiang’an Hospital of Xiamen University. Dr. Li is a board member of Basic Research Development Committee of Chinese Ophthalmology Society, a board member of Asia Dry Eye Society, a member of Chinese Dry Eye Society, Asia Cornea Society and Chinese Cornea Society, and a member of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a communication editor for the Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology, and an editor for Experimental Eye Research and PLos ONE. Dr. Li’s research focuses on corneal stem cells, corneal tissue engineering and ocular surface diseases, and he has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Ying Jie, MD, PhD, is a Vice Co-Chair of TFOS China.
Dr. Jie is a Professor and Director of the Department of Cornea and Ocular Surface, as well as the Deputy Director, of Beijing Institute of Ophthalmology, Beijing Tongren Eye Center and Beijing Tongren Hospital of Capital Medical University. He was a Senior Visiting Scholar at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School, and the Shiley Eye Institute of the University of California San Diego. Dr. Jie is a member of the Asian Dry Eye Association and Beijing Medical Association, and has leadership roles in the Chinese Medical Equipment Association and the Chinese Allergy Society. He has received funding for five National Natural Science Foundation projects, and is the recipient of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award and the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Association of Integrated Medicine. Dr. Jie owns eleven Chinese patents. He has been invited to speak in over 20 international conferences and has performed more than 5,000 complicated ocular surface surgeries and corneal transplantations. Dr. Jie's clinical and research interests include dry eye, corneal transplantation, allergic conjunctivitis and myopia, and he has published more than 100 articles.

Yang Liu, MD, is the Secretary of TFOS China.
Dr. Liu is an Associate Professor and a Vice Chief physician in the Department of Ophthalmology in the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. She was a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. David A. Sullivan at the Schepens Eye Research Institute (SERI) of Massachusetts Eye and Ear and the Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School (HMS; Boston, MA, USA), and was promoted to the faculty as an SERI instructor and HMS investigator. Dr. Liu has published over 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including co-authorships of Subcommittee reports from TFOS DEWS II and TFOS Lifestyle Workshop. She has won multiple awards from the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS) and The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). She owns four international, and one Chinese, patent(s). Her major research interests focus on dry eye disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, and systemic disease-associated ocular surface disease.
