Cecilia Marini
Maria Cecilia Marini has had an interest in the ocular surface and ocular infectious diseases from a very young age. Dr. Marini graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, where she received an Ophthalmology Specialist degree in 2009, followed by a Masters degree in Ophthalmology from the Argentina Council of Ophthalmology in 2010. Then in 2014, she obtained the Eye Bank Director degree from the Pan-American Eye Bank Association in Colombia. Dr. Marini has been the Chief of the Corneal Transplant Division for the last five years, as well as Medical Staff and Coordinator of Cornea, External Disease and Cataract Section at the High Complexity Hospital El Cruce, Buenos Aires, Argentina. She´s also works with Dr. Jorge Tosi in the Integral Dry Eye Center, which is in their private office (¨CIOS¨). Dr. Marini also participated in a Cornea Observership program at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami. She is an active member of the Argentine Ocular Surface Society, is very involved with the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society, contributing member of the TFOS DEWS II Report, and is the Society’s newly elected Ambassador for Argentina. Some of her published works include but are not limited to ¨Endophthalmitis.¨ Diagnostic Atlas of Retinal Disease (2017), Anti-inflammatory effects of rebamipide eye drops on superior limbic keratoconjuntivitis (2016), Aplicación de Irradiación Ultravioleta: Cross-Linking (CSL) en el Tratamiento de Queratitis Micóticas (2009), and Queratitis por Acanthamoeba: Rehabilitación Visual. (2009). When Dr. Marini is not taking care of patients, she enjoys good movies!
