Cecilia Marini
Dr. Maria Cecilia Marini is an ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, ocular surface, and infectious eye diseases. She earned her Specialist and Master’s Degrees in Ophthalmology from the University of Buenos Aires and the Argentine Council of Ophthalmology, and obtained the Eye Bank Director Certification from the Pan-American Eye Bank Association.
She serves as Chief of the Corneal Transplant Division and Coordinator of Cornea and External Disease at the High Complexity Hospital El Cruce, and is part of the Cornea and Ocular Surface Section at the British Hospital of Buenos Aires. Dr. Marini is also Co-Director of the Integral Dry Eye Center (CIOS) and Associate Professor at the University of Salvador (USAL), where she participates in the ophthalmology specialist training program.
Dr. Marini is an active member and part of the Board Member of the Argentine Ocular Surface Society (SASO) and the Argentine Ambassador for the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS). She contributed to the TFOS DEWS II Report and the TFOS Lifestyle Report. Her active involvement in national and international societies reflects her commitment to advancing clinical research, surgery and education in ocular surface medicine.
Her scientific work focuses on dry eye disease epidemiology, ocular surface therapeutics (clinical and surgical) , and corneal infections. Some publications include:
