Gunnar Már Zoega
Gunnar M Zoega is a corneal, refractive and cataract surgeon with a special interest in dry eye. Gunnar leads the cornea clinic at the Department of Ophthalmology, Landspitali University Hospital in Reykjavík, Iceland, as well as a Partner at Sjonlag Eye Center where he and his ophthalmic nurse Sigurlaug Gunnarsdottir and optometrist Hreinn Ingi Hreinsson run the dry eye clinic Táralind. Gunnar trained in ophthalmology in Sweden and did his cornea fellowship at St. Erik Eye Hospital in Stockholm. Gunnar holds a teaching position at the University of Iceland and participates in a research projects in the cornea field. He and his family moved back to Iceland in 2013 after eight wonderful years in Sweden. Iceland has a population of 340,000 inhabitants living on this large island in the middle of the north Atlantic where fire meets ice in a truly magnificent landscape. Gunnar lives in the capital, Reykjavik, with his wife and three children and enjoys family, outdoors, photography, friends, and road bike cycling in his spare time.
