Kaevalin Lekhanont
Kaevalin Lekhanont is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. She received her medical degree from Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok), and after her internship and residency training at Khon Kaen University, she completed sub-specialty fellowship training in Cornea External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Ramathibodi Hospital at Mahidol University, and Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She served both as a member of the TFOS DEWS II, Epidemiology subcommittee and the TFOS Young Investigator Committee. Currently, Dr. Lekhanont is the Secretary of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Society of Thailand. Professor Lekhanont has published almost 40 international peer-reviewed articles and authored many book chapters. She is also an active reviewer in several peer-reviewed scientific journals, and associate editor of two scientific journals. Dr. Lekhanont has received many local and international awards for her clinical and research work, such as the SERI-ARVO Travel Grant Award (2005), Wilmer Research Award (2006), the Cornea Society Troutman Award from the Cornea Society (2012), and most recently the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand (RCOPT) Young Researcher Award (2015). Dr. Lekhanont specializes in surgical treatment of cornea and ocular surface disorders, and performs all types of corneal transplantation surgeries. She cares for a number of patients with dry eye, other ocular surface diseases, and microbial keratitis.
