Malgorzata Mrugacz
Dr. Malgorzata Mrugacz M.D., Ph.D. is Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology and Eye Rehabilitation at Medical University of Bialystok, Poland. She is an ophthalmologist with a special interest in ocular surface diseases and dry eye involved in ocular surface immunology. She is also interested in diagnosis and treatment retinal changes in patients with myopia and glaucoma. Clinical practice includes an interest in the management of amblyopia and using strabismus surgery and botulinum toxin to treat strabismus. In addition to research, Prof. Mrugacz concentrates extensively on teaching medical students in ophthalmology and eye research.
Dr. Mrugacz has published over 250 peer- reviewed articles and served as the Editorial Board Member for a number of journals including Progress in Health Sciences, Journal of Ophthalmology and Optometry, Journal of Ophthalmology and Clinical Research. She is a member of Polish Ophthalmological Society, Polish Electrophysiology Society, European Pediatric Ophthalmology Society, European Association for Vision and Eye Research, American Academy of Ophthalmology, New York Academy of Sciences, and Doctors Without Borders. She identifies with the quote of Hippocrates: “Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity”.
She enjoys spending time with her family, including dog. She also enjoys biking, skiing and the simple joys of life.
