Marco Antonio Bordón Riveros

Marco Antonio Bordón Riveros has received his medical degree from Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay and has completed his ophthalmology residency at Fundación Banco de Ojos, Asunción, Paraguay. The Department of  Ophthalmology and  Visual Sciences of Paulista School of Medicine of the Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Brazil is where he performed Cornea and Ocular surface fellowship. He  is the recipient of awards and honors including an Achievement Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, from Panamerican Ophthalmology Association and Paraguayan Ophthalmology Society. He was invited as speaker  in several national e international conferences. 

Marco Bordon is actually Medical  Director of the Fundación Banco de Ojos, Asunción, Paraguay where he is cataracts and cornea specialist and is part of the residency program. 

Dr. Bordon’s main interests include corneal transplantation, dry eye, ocular surface, keratoconus, corneal cross-linking, cornea and external diseases, cataract surgery and refractive surgery.

Latin American TFOS Ambassador Meeting

TFOS has organized a special meeting of the Latin American TFOS Ambassadors. This meeting, which will occur in Panama City this May, has two goals: first, to address the unmet needs for the management (e.g. diagnosis & treatment) of ocular surface diseases in their country/region, as well as what the Ambassadors perceive as short and long term scientific/clinical solutions; and second, to create a report for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
