Ryan Mahmoud

Ryan Mahmoud is a therapeutic optometrist based in Auckland, New Zealand.  He is the owner of NVISION Eyecare, a practice that specialises in advanced dry eye diagnosis and management.  The practice is recognised as a leading facility in the field of dry eye in New Zealand.  In addition to his clinical role as a dry eye specialist, Ryan is involved in dry eye research with the Ocular Surface Lab, headed by Professor Jennifer Craig, at the University of Auckland.  He also contributes to local and international publications on dry eye disease and is asked to speak at conferences on advanced dry eye treatments.  He is an honorary teaching fellow at the school of Optometry at the University of Auckland, and is on the interviewing panel for first year students applying for entry into medical fields at the university.

Latin American TFOS Ambassador Meeting

TFOS has organized a special meeting of the Latin American TFOS Ambassadors. This meeting, which will occur in Panama City this May, has two goals: first, to address the unmet needs for the management (e.g. diagnosis & treatment) of ocular surface diseases in their country/region, as well as what the Ambassadors perceive as short and long term scientific/clinical solutions; and second, to create a report for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
