Ying Li

Ying Li is a Professor at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), Director of the cornea and refractive surgery center of PUMCH, and Vice Director of cornea committee of Chinese Academy of Ophthalmology. Professor Li is a renowned corneal disease expert and refractive surgeon in China. She pioneered the refractive surgery, phakic intraocular lens implantation (ICL) for high myopia, and ACE presbyopia surgery in China. She was also among the first Chinese doctors to receive the international qualification for ICL implantation. During the past 30 years, with her extensive experience in refractive surgeries and managing difficult complications and other corneal diseases, Dr. Li has helped tens of thousands of patients. As the supervisor of the qualification tests for Excimer laser instrument in China, she has also made a tremendous contribution to the standardization of the refractive surgery in China. Professor Li is an active researcher of cornea diseases. She is currently in charge of national and municipal research projects that have been funded by ARVO and the Ministry of Education in China etc. Her research covers severe dry eye diseases, immune-related corneal inflammatory diseases, and the treatment of keratoconus. By 2016, she has authored nearly 100 publications and authored several books in Chinese. Her studies receive national recognition, including the Scientific Achievement Prize issued by China’s Ministry of Health. She also serves as the editor for six top-tier Chinese ophthalmic journals. In 2015, she ranked sixth on the list of the most influential Ophthalmologists in China. Dr. Li is a member of the standing committee of the Ophthalmology subdivision of Chinese Microcirculation, Society Deputy Chief Member of corneal committee of Chinese Ophthalmologists, Association Member of Asian Dry Eye Society, Member of Academic Committee of China Dry Eye subdivision of Asian Dry Eye, Society Member of Ophthalmology subdivision of Association of Medical Exchanges across the Taiwan straits, and Member of Beijing Ophthalmology subdivision of Chinese Medical Association.
