Zbigniew Zagórski
Zbigniew Zagórski, Professor of Ophthalmology, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Lublin Medical University, Lublin, Poland in 1965, and became Board certified (Poland) in 1973. Professor Zagórski has been working in the Department of Ophthalmology at Lublin Medical University for the last 42 years, fifteen of which he was Chairman, Tadeusz Krwawicz Chair of Ophthalmology. Dr. Zagórski was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at Department of Ophthalmology, University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany in 1985-86, 1991 and 2002. In 1998 he founded the first Zagórski Eye Surgery Centers in Naleczów Poland, followed by Rzeszów in 2005, Kraków in 2007 and Nowy Sacz in 2014. In 2013 he founded the first in Poland Dry Eye Clinic in Kraków, then the second in Lublin. He represented the Middle-Eastern Europe in the International Council of Ophthalmology for 16 years, was an ICO Board Member, elected Member of Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis, Chair XLVIII, and of the European Academy of Ophthalmology, Chair XXIII. In 2008, Professor Zagórski was editor of the manual: Diseases of Cornea, Sclera and Ocular Surface (in Polish), and in 2012 editor of the TFOS MGD Report in Polish. He authors of over 200 publications and is the editor of 5 books.
